I reverse-engineered a mini solar cranking flashlight to assess its environmental impact and propose sustainable upgrades.
After full teardown and material identification, I used CES EduPack to audit embodied energy and CO₂ footprint. I redesigned the main casing by replacing injection-molded PP with 3D printed PLA, and recommended a bio-based coating for a high-end finish.
These changes reduce emissions and align with Frink Labs’ sustainability goals while enhancing user experience and design flexibility.
